5th graders look at and analyze a tumble weed from a Desert Biome. They were extremely fascinated when they discovered that they range in size from a tennis ball to a Volks Wagon Beetle.
The 6th grade Science class enjoyed a exciting journey through the Solar System last week. While visiting each planet the students shared facts about each planet with the rest of their classmates. This also allowed each student to get some exercise in for the day. Our scale model started at the sun and ended a mile and a half away at the Dwarf Planet Pluto.
6th Graders love to create foldables to help organize information on many topics in Science. During this lab students organized facts about the Solar System.
5th grade students work together during labs this week to learn the many parts of the plant and animal cells. Their favorite activity was labeling the cells on the SMART BOARD.
My name is Elizabeth Johnson. I teach 5th and 6th grade Science @ Pickett Co. K-8. I truly love working with this age group. I've been married to my husband, Robby for 11 years. We have a 4 year old son, Jonah who is our pride and joy. Since I have had my son my whole outlook on teaching has changed. I look at each child and picture them as my son. I try to handle all situations to that affect. Being a mom is my most important job. I hope this blog is helpful but most of all fun.
